Summer 2012

So I have been behind and a lot has happened since I last wrote. Harper turned 2 years old, Tyson and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary, I have been enjoying the second trimester of my fourth pregnancy with yet another girl, Aurora got her first haircut ever, and we acquired a new furry family member "Barley" an 8 month old Scottish terrier. We also got to go to Preston during rodeo weekend and visit with our families and see Erin, Ryan and the kids which we hadnt seen altogether for over 3 years.

The only bad thing about this summer is it is bringing us closer to Tyson leaving us for 7 weeks to go to the NCO academy in San Antonio. Well, distance makes the heart grow fonder, so our time together just means more to us!

Easter

When we found out that my brother Matt's wife was in labor with their first we arranged a trip home. Not only did we want to meet little Jaxon but it was my dad's 60th birthday party and the weekend of Easter. Three really good reasons to make the four hour trip. Jaxon Matthew Rogers was born on 4/4/2012 at 12:41pm and weighing it at just a small 6 lbs 12oz 18 inches long.

We left on a Saturday (my dad's b-day) to drive to Preston and made it there early afternoon. When we first pulled into town we went to Tyson's grandma's house (where his dad lives) to eat a big steak lunch and do an Easter egg hunt with that part of his family. We all had a lot of fun!

On Sunday we went to church with my parents and afterward celebrated my dad's birthday with a homemade icecream cake, cake pops, and dinner. We also did an Easter egg hunt with my siblings (everyone except Erin's family was able to be there). We ended up staying til the following Tuesday so on Monday we went to Logan to see the baby again. While we were there we took my dad to lunch, visited with Sadie, and picked Tyson's mom up from work.

It ended up being a really fun trip and we are so glad we were able to go!

Crazy Life

The past couple months have been a whirlwind here. We decided to add a guest bedroom, and storage shed to our house and my little sister got married.....

Our garage had extra storage space in the back that we decided to convert into a bedroom. We hired a close friend who is also a contractor to do the job and Tyson was able to help him do it and learn a lot in the process. My dad came up here over a weekend and directed Tyson in doing the electrical which saved us a lot of money! Since we were gonna need some more storage space for the stuff we were kicking out of the garage, we, of course, had to build a storage shed too (as if remodeling wasnt enough). We are hoping that while we are living here it will give us more space but when it comes time to move it will help the re-sale value increase as well. It took about a month but we finally got it done, and may I say it all looks amazing!

My little sister had been engaged for about 5 or 6 months but they were having a hard time pinpointing a date. We knew it was coming but when they finally decided on a March 17th we had less than a month to prepare. My mom and I along with Sadie's input decided on the decor, food, and layout of the wedding/ wedding dinner. Once I finally got to Preston to physically help with the organization of it there was only 3 days til the wedding bells chimed. So, we worked nearly around the clock, with the exception of the baby-shower I had to throw in the middle for my sister-in-law., but we got it all done and may I say it was amazing as well! Although, I must sadly say, that pictures will have to come later because I managed to lose my camera and not get one single picture of all my hard work on this magnificent event.

While all of this is going on our beautiful little girls are getting bigger and there are still no new ones on the way.

Christmas Bells are ringing

Christmas time is our favorite time of year! This year we were able to go to Preston the day before Christmas Eve and stay til New Years Day. We did so many wonderful things but we most enjoyed just having time off to spend together and with our extended family.
On Christmas Eve we built gingerbread houses, played games and opened one gift before bed. On Christmas day we went to a very nice Christmas service at church, and then spent the morning opening presents and having a delicious breakfast with my family. We spent the afternoon with Tyson's family opening gifts and having a wonderful Christmas dinner together.

My sister Shannon and nephew Hunter and Tyson's brother Tim and his family came down the following day and we were able to have a nice visit with all of them. Some of the other fun highlights of our trip were being able to go to the temple and on a nice date while we had family to watch the girls. My mom and I made an awesome quiet book for the girls, which took the bulk of three days and we had a fun New Years Eve party at my parents house! We are so blessed and when the holidays are over the next years festivities cant come around quick enough.

The Festival of Lights

We were able to go to the Festival of Lights at the Boise Botanical Garden on December 16th with our wonderful friends the Rekows. It was a beautiful place to get us in the Christmas spirit. Santa was there for the kids to sit on his lap and let him know what they wanted for Christmas. We had an awesome time and are so glad our good friends invited us!

Aurora turns 3

On December 5th, 2011 we have had our beautiful princess Aurora in our lives for three years. I can't imagine life without her now and my how our lives have changed in those wonderful three years. She is getting so big and she is learning so much! It is just amazing to see the changes that a child goes through in their first three years of life. Aurora Berlynn Andersen is approximately 3ft 4in tall and weighs 31.5 lbs. She can say her ABCs and knows what all the letters say. She can also count to ten and will be starting sunbeams class in primary on Sunday. She is super excited for the day she can start school and she is obsessed with her dad and I getting married (even though we already are).

On her actual birthday it snowed about 2 inches and so we were able to go use their new snow gear and go play in the snow and later that night we had a fun get together with our little family and had an ice-cream cake and opened presents.

Then two days later we had a birthday party for her with her cute little playgroup friends. Fortunately, we were blessed that Tyson was able to stay home with us for her first real birthday party too, so that was also a family event.

We love her dearly and are so blessed to have her as our daughter!
