Recent Festivities
The last weekend in April my parents and three youngest siblings were able to come to Mt. Home to visit for my birthday. My parents took Tyson and I out to eat at the Cheesecake Factory while Sadie watched the four kiddos. It was such a good time with really good food and even better company! Sunday we all went to church and then decided to take a drive to Twin Falls to see the falls. Somehow we got lost and couldn't figure out how to get down to the falls and only got to enjoy the view of the bridge together. From there we went our separate ways. Its always really hard to see people leave.
Mother's Day weekend we went to Boise to go out to eat and ended up at a car dealership looking at vehicles. It seems every time we go to a dealership to just "look" we end up driving home in a new car. Sure enough that is what happened this time, we got a new 2011 Kia Sorento SX Crossover. We had been needing a bigger family vehicle but didn't want a full SUV because of gas mileage and didn't want a minivan because we just aren't self assured enough for that. We saw that these new Sorento's got just as good of gas mileage as our car and had a third row. We had to go see what all the fuss was about. A few years ago we would have never thought we would buy a Kia but in test driving one we fell in love. They have all the nice features of some of the more expensive vehicles but without the high price tag. Anyhow, it was the best Mother's Day that I've ever had and not just because I got a new car. But the next day Tyson had some really sweet cards layed out on the counter from him and the girls and after church he made a really good chicken and mushroom basil pesto pasta and a cheesecake. In the afternoon we went for a family drive up through the mountains. All in all it was just an awesome day and two really awesome weekends in a row.
